Reno Omokri, aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, has reacted to the indifference shown by President Muhammadu Buhari and the ruling party towards Rochas Okorocha's debacle with the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Omokri who called on the ruling party's National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole and the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi to watch their back, said the ruling party has used Okorocha and dumped him like sanitary pard.
Rochas Okorocha who emerged Senator-elect of Imo west senatorial zone during the March 9 governorship and states house of assembly election has been denied certificate of return by the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) after he was deemed to have
manhadled an electoral officer and forcing him to declare election results under duress.
The Imo West Senatorial District returning officer,Innocent Ibeabuchi, reported that he was “detained at the centre for days.”
He said this while announcing the results of the senatorial election for the zone.
“I have been held hostage here for days so I’m trying to ease off and take my life home back to my children and for the sake of that I am calling these results under duress,” the returning officer said.
Previously, the ruling APC had suspended Okorocha alongside Ogun state governor for indulging in anti-party activities.
For this reason, the party leadership has not in any way intervene or made any statement concerning INEC's decision to withhold Okorocha's certificate of return weeks after the commission presented other senators-elect with theirs.
However, Reno Omokri issued a sarcastic warning to Adams Oshiomhole, Minister Rotimi Amaechi,alerting them that Okorocha's fate awaits them.
Reno tweeted on Friday:
"Tinubu, learn from Okorocha’s fate. After using him till he could be used no more, @MBuhari and @OfficialAPCNg have now thrown Rochas away like a used sanitary pad. The same fate awaits Oshiomhole and Amaechi. Mark my words. They are being TOLERATED, not CELEBRATED #RenosDarts"
